The West Michigan Regional Office of the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center (MMTC-West), links small to mid-size manufacturers throughout a 17-county region to one another, as well as to a network of state and local technical resources. These links provide inter-firm learning and networking opportunities that are offered to all levels of an organization and are “delivered” on-site at area businesses or through off-site groups.

Activities include:

  • Providing Customized Manufacturing Assessment and Technical Consulting
  • Developing and Facilitating User Groups and Workshops
  • Providing Free, Industry Benchmarking Services
  • Organizing Tours of Best Practice
  • Convening and Facilitating the Manufacturers Council, the Supply Chain Management Council and the Information Technology Council of West Michigan

While MMTC-West assistance programs vary in design, they share a common characteristic – participants actively learn from one another. When firms learn from each other, each gains real-world insight and help with putting continuous improvement theory into practice. MMTC-West offers a variety of inter-firm learning programs, customized to meet customer needs, including user groups, tours of best practice, and workshops.
