Collaborating to fuel industry growth. With more than a quarter century of collaboration West Michigan manufacturers understand the power of cooperation for improving competitiveness. Through user groups, industry councils, tours of best practice and other events, our regional industry leaders have become more efficient, more profitable, and more competitive in the global marketplace.
Our diverse, experienced manufacturing cluster strongly positions West Michigan to become a center for developing and manufacturing alternative energy technologies. These industry groups are designed to provide the support area manufacturers need to diversify their products, collaborate with peers, and take full advantage of alternative energy market opportunities.
West Michigan Wind Manufacturers Network
Launched in January 2009 for the purpose of creating and expanding supply chain opportunities within the wind energy industry. There are currently 79 members from 47 West Michigan companies collaborating in this Network, and there is no cost to participate. Monthly meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month, and are hosted by a participating company.
West Michigan Solar Supply Chain
Started in April 2010 with the intent to create and expand solar manufacturing opportunities, share business development leads and procurement successes, and to offer industry technical assistance. There are currently 108 members from 72 West Michigan companies collaborating in this Supply Chain, and there is no cost to participate. Monthly meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month, and are hosted by a participating company.
West Michigan Bio-Energy Consortium
Organized in August 2010 for businesses who have identified a common interest in the design, manufacturing, and service of bio-energy systems. The purpose of this consortium is to provide members with the opportunity to meet, discuss, and identify ways to expand business opportunities. There are currently 70 members from 52 West Michigan companies collaborating in this Consortium, and there is no cost to participate. Monthly meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month, and are hosted by a participating company.
