Companies involved in international trade are invited to attend Fifth Third Bank’s one-day Letter of Credit Seminar, featuring Frank Reynolds, President of International Projects, Inc. as the main presenter. The international rules for letters of credit changed in July to the UCP 600 version, and it is important that companies understand the chages. Frank Reynolds is a recognized trade expert, having written several books on the subject. His successful seminars led to his being asked to write a guide titled, Incoterms for Americans , the first of several important instructional or reference books on trade topics, including A to Z of International Trade, the one-stop resource for international trade information. Frank’s company, International Projects, Inc., has won the Dept. of Commerce’s E(xport) Award, for being a model exporting company. Attendees of the Sept. 29 seminar will not only learn about the important changes in Letter of Credit Rules, but also receive a copy of Frank’s recent book Letters of Credit for Americans (Your Guide to the UCP 600), co-authored with Donald R. Smith. Fifth Third Bank’s Trade Finance team will also discuss financing options available to importers and exporters; important information in today’s volatile international financial markets. Make your reservation by filling in the attached registration form.

How much resources (people, computers, printers, etc.) are dedicated to all administrative process in your organization? If an organization is going to achieve significant gains in its lean journey, it will need to create flow by adopting the lean staff model. The tools are similar to what organizations apply in the manufacturing environment. The methodology is structured differently, and how an organization defines a “product family” may involve a mental shift in thinking. The key is to systematically analyze the flow and work on process that will provide the biggest return to the customer.
