The National Civic League selected the city of Grand Rapids in 2004 as an "All-American City Finalist" for best exemplifying the spirit of grassroots citizen involvement and cross-sector collaborative problem solving.

The International Business Community of Greater Grand Rapids
West Michigan is home to a growing international business community, with many companies operating subsidiaries and facilities in Kent County. The area also features several networking and support systems for the international staff and families of area firms. The Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce is the only Chamber in the United States with a Diversity division providing tools and educational programs to help understand how changing demographics, market share, consumers, and multiple cultures will impact and advance businesses and our community.
