MMTC-West Industry Councils
Increasing competitiveness through collaboration.
The Manufacturers Council
The Right Place, Inc. convened the Manufacturers Council in 1989 as a way to organize manufacturers' individual interests into a common purpose of improving the local manufacturing economy. Members of the Manufacturers Council have a collective vision . . .to strengthen the West Michigan region as an international center for business innovation and manufacturing excellence. From that vision comes the council's mission to create a collaborative environment to promote, facilitate, enable, and advocate for implementation of "world class" business and manufacturing enterprises.
To fulfill that mission, the council follows three basic strategies:
- To provide a forum for interaction among executives to network
- To articulate and prioritize the needs of area manufacturers
- To improve the preparation of the local workforce by contributing to the continuous improvement of community workforce development systems
Through these and other activities, the Manufacturers Council remains committed to its founding vision to strengthen the West Michigan manufacturing economy through collaboration. The Manufacturers Council is a volunteer collaborative of West Michigan manufacturing owners and top executives representing a diverse assortment of local industries.
