About the Michigan Shingo Prize

The state-level Shingo prize highlights the value of using lean/world-class manufacturing practices to attain world-class status, and is a first-step on a journey to pursue the national Shingo Prize for Excellence in Manufacturing.

The mission of the Michigan Shingo Prize is to:

• Facilitate increased awareness of excellence in world-class manufacturing practices and techniques that enhance a company's competitive position in the state, national and global marketplace
• Foster an understanding and sharing of successful core manufacturing- and business-improvement methodologies.
• Annually recognize companies, divisions, and plants that demonstrate excellence in manufacturing practices that translate into excellent customer satisfaction and business results
