Ford Airport Marks Sixth Straight Year of Record Growth
January 18, 2019: The Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GFIA) set an all-time passenger record for 2018, marking the sixth straight year that the Airport has seen record-setting growth. In 2018, 3,263,234 passengers flew in and out of GFIA, an increase of 16-percent from 2017. The record-setting year was capped in December with an increase of 17-percent year-over-year. November 30, 2016: The Gerald R. Ford International Airport announced its new president and CEO. The GFIA Airport Authority Board voted unanimously to hire Jim Gill. Gill previously worked for 15 years at the Allegheny County Airport Authority, which operates two airports including the Pittsburgh International Airport.
