Airport Authority Board Announces $90 Million Expansion of Concourse A
August 28, 2019: The Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority Board today announced Project Elevate, a three-development expansion of Ford Airport that begins with a $90 million extension of Concourse A to accommodate projected passenger growth over the next 20 years. Building construction is set to begin in spring 2020 on the addition to Concourse A, which will add eight gates and new amenities. Expansion of the terminal apron to support this state-of-the-art concourse is already underway, thanks to more than $14.4 million in federal and state commitments from the Federal Aviation Administration and the Michigan Department of Transportation. Airport Authority Board Selects Experienced Executive as New GRR CEO
August 23, 2019: The Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority Board today announced that experienced airport executive Torrance Richardson, A.A.E, will lead Ford Airport as its new President and CEO. Richardson brings broad leadership expertise from multiple Midwest airports, most recently serving as executive vice president and chief operating officer of the Columbus Regional Airport Authority, which oversees three airports in Central Ohio. During his tenure in Columbus, passenger traffic grew 33% to more than 8.4 million passengers while freight increased 91% to more than 300 million pounds. Read more.

August 12, 2019: The Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority (GFIA) announced today that William "Bill" Nowicki has been hired as its new Chief Airport Law Enforcement Officer. January 18, 2019: The Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GFIA) set an all-time passenger record for 2018, marking the sixth straight year that the Airport has seen record-setting growth. In 2018, 3,263,234 passengers flew in and out of GFIA, an increase of 16-percent from 2017. The record-setting year was capped in December with an increase of 17-percent year-over-year.
