Grand Rapids was recently named the No. 1 housing market in the nation by by Trulia, a real estate research group. The ranking was based on metrics such as low vacancy rates, strong job growth over the past year, high starter-home affordability, more inbound home searches on Trulia than outbound, and a large share of the adult population being under age 35.
According to Trulia, West Michigan will continue to be a hot housing market to watch.
Nashville, Tenn. and Raleigh, N.C. trailed behind Grand Rapids, ranking second and third.
