Hello West Michigan’s Executive Director Cindy Brown recently won the West Michigan Woman Brilliance Award in the Connector Category. The award honors a woman whose professional and personal success involves making the right connections and building mutually beneficial relationships.
Under Cindy’s leadership at Hello West Michigan, the organization has successfully connected over 780 job seekers with employers through the resume pack program she pioneered in 2013. Along with her day job, Cindy’s work extends to several non-profits that she has been involved with over the years, including Susan G. Komen, Van Andel Institute Purple Community, Pulaski Days, Goodwill Industries, and MiWorks.
“There was definitely a moment of disbelief when they call your name, but I see this less as an award for myself and more of a confirmation of the great things Hello West Michigan is doing in the region,” said Brown of her win. “It is an honor to be recognized, particularly among the other 9 winners who are all doing incredible things in West Michigan.”
This was the inaugural year for the awards program, which received over 130 applications for 10 categories. Cindy was one of three finalists in the Connector Category and was honored at an April 26 ceremony.
