The Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center - West
Who we are:
Since 1991, the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center (MMTC) has helped small and medium-sized manufacturers become stronger and more competitive. Designed to meet your needs, we develop more effective business leaders, drive product and process innovation, promote company-wide operational excellence, and foster creative strategies for business growth and greater profitability.
MMTC is supported by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP).
Our goal is to ensure the West Michigan manufacturing community continues to grow and succeed. Your business is a key component of that goal.

How we work:
Whether you have specific areas for improvement or you’re not sure where to start, we can build tailored solutions and provide resources to meet your exact needs. Our proven processes and experts are dedicated to maximizing every dollar you invest in improving your business.
Every new project begins with a NO-COST ASSESSMENT of your entire manufacturing facility. This assessment helps identify areas for improvement throughout your process. More importantly, the results of your assessment will identify a baseline for improvement as you move forward.
The results of your assessment are used to develop a custom implementation plan tailored specifically to your company's exact needs and plans for growth. Unlike other work plans, this one is focused on specific actionable steps for improvement and drives quantifiable results.
We have a variety of solutions to help you get the most out of your MMTC experience. Depending on your preferred level of engagement, we can implement solutions via: customized learning through online training and consulting, peer-to-peer group learning, and general awareness learning through conferences, seminars, and workshops.
We measure our success by yours. Unlike many other providers, your work with us is independently reviewed by a separate company. Each project is analyzed for success based on quantifiable impacts such as: increased sales, new customers, and cost savings. We don't succeed unless you succeed.
Continuous improvement is a vital component of every profitable manufacturer. Once a program is completed, we work with you to update your current state and identify the next steps for improvement in your process.
