Across the country, food processors are taking a fresh look at their food safety management systems (FSMS) in order to deliver higher quality food products, achieve higher levels of plant efficiency, and comply with increasingly complex regulatory standards and audits.
In West Michigan, they're turning to The Center for help in all three areas.
The Center provides the tools and expertise to find the right balance of safety, quality, and efficiency. Our team of experts understand complex food quality regulations and can help you develop, achieve, and maintain standards that meet the needs of your business and customers.
No matter what your company produces, our goal is always the same: from feedstock to supply chain to waste management, we help you drive down costs, increase outputs, and improve product quality.
THE CENTER OFFERS THE FOLLOWING TOOLS:
Consistent food safety fundamentals are often difficult to provide for an organization. Completing a HACCP Plan Development Course enables you to be better equipped to identify and avoid food safety risks. This course is a mixture of lecture and hands-on learning and is considered to be "moderate level" training accredited by the International HACCP Alliance. Visit our Events page to view upcoming workshops, or contact us with any questions regarding our HACCP course offerings.
The Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) is the first major update of federal food safety laws since 1938. FSMA gives the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) broad new powers to prevent food safety problems, detect and respond to food safety issues, and improve the safety of imported foods. All food facilities must establish and implement a Food Safety Plan that includes an analysis of hazards and risk-based preventive controls. A Preventative Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) is required to prepare and oversee the implementation of th facility's Food Safety Plan in compliance with the FSMA requirements. Visit our Events page to view upcoming workshops, or contact us with any questions regarding our PCQI course offerings.
