Kristine Bersche

Director of Community Development

Kristine assists in leading strategic efforts under The Right Place’s “Place” pillar, which focuses on making the Greater Grand Rapids region a location of choice for businesses, residents, and visitors. She leads initiatives related to placemaking, infrastructure, site readiness, and transformational community development projects across Greater Grand Rapids.

Past Experience

Kristine brings over 20 years of experience in environmental consulting, sustainability, and community engagement. Most recently, she served as an Environmental Business Advisor with Bridge House Advisors, where she led lender-focused environmental due diligence and sustainability consulting for clients across North America. Her previous roles include leading large-scale watershed education programs, coordinating environmental education efforts for municipalities and schools, and serving on several City of Grand Rapids commissions focused on planning, economic development, brownfield redevelopment, and stormwater oversight. As a former business owner, Kristine participated in the creation of the Uptown Corridor Improvement District (CID) and served on various boards and committees supporting the recruitment and growth of the Uptown community.
