Amazon has announced it will open 100,000 new full and part-time positions and is investing over $350 million in increased compensation for hourly employees in the U.S., Europe and Canada through the month of April. The company says it realizes many people have been economically impacted as jobs in areas like hospitality, restaurants and travel are lost or furloughed as part of the ongoing health crisis, and wants those individuals to know they are welcomed on Amazon's teams until things return to normal and their past employer is able to bring them back.
