Today, The Right Place, Inc., in partnership with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and Cascade Charter Township, announce that HealthBridge Financial, Inc. plans to invest $17.2m and hire 200 employees as it leases a facility on 36th Street, near Gerald R. Ford International Airport — just four miles from its Grand Rapids headquarters.

HealthBridge has signed a long-term lease for the single-story office building located at 5253 36th Street. The company intends to expand its operations at this new facility within the first quarter of 2026.

The MEDC is supporting the initiative with a $1,500,000 grant from the Michigan Business Development Program. The company expects to add positions across multiple functions, including customer service, software development, legal, and other professional and administrative staff.

The local site was chosen over competing states, including Arizona, Nevada, Texas, and Illinois, where the company maintains an office in downtown Chicago. HealthBridge chose to expand locally due to the region’s highly skilled workforce and its commitment to the area it has called home since its founding in 2017.

“We founded HealthBridge to fundamentally change the way people pay for and afford healthcare in this country,” said Gregory VandenBosch, Co-Founder and CEO, HealthBridge Financial, Inc. “As we expand into new markets nationwide, Michigan remains a strategic home for our growth. MEDC’s support allows us to create new jobs in Kent County and strengthen the infrastructure needed to advance this mission from right here in Michigan.”

HealthBridge offers a solution to bridge the financial needs of patients and healthcare providers. Its fintech solution links healthcare providers with capital market partners to provide consumer-protective patient payment plans. The HealthBridge Program offers payment plans for up to 24 months with 0% interest. And there are no fees, application forms, or credit checks. Providers using HealthBridge can better care for patients’ physical and financial health by decreasing administrative costs and accelerating cash flow – all without recourse. Its innovative solution runs on a proprietary software platform that complements, not replaces, a healthcare provider's electronic health record software.

The Right Place worked closely with the company, Cascade Township and the MEDC to ensure the company's continued growth in the region. They offered support by effectively organizing state and local resources, including the Michigan Business Development Program Incentive.

“The Right Place is excited that HealthBridge Financial has decided to expand its operations in the Grand Rapids area,” said Brent Case, Vice President of Business Development at The Right Place. “The company had appealing options in other regions across the country; however, our area's skilled talent pool, strong work ethic, supportive business climate, and the company’s commitment to its hometown were significant factors in the decision to grow right here.”

“Attracting cutting-edge companies like HealthBridge Financial ensures we are able to continue to cultivate the kind of business environment our residents have come to expect," said Cascade Township Supervisor Grace Lesperance. "We are excited to partner with the Right Place and MEDC and look forward to welcoming HealthBridge Financial to the community."
