Today, in collaboration with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and the City of Wyoming, we're announcing that local company Advantage Sales & Marketing, LLC (dba Advantage Solutions) will expand its sales and marketing operations and consolidate several local operations into the former Klingman’s building, 1001 28th Street, Wyoming.

Advantage Solutions, a leading North American business solution to consumer goods manufacturers and retailers, will be consolidating its four locations in the Grand Rapids area into one location at the former Klingman’s Furniture facility in the City of Wyoming.

The project is expected to generate a total investment of $4.3 million and create 100 jobs, resulting in a $550,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant.

Michigan was chosen over a competing site in Wisconsin.

The company was evaluating whether to remain in Grand Rapids or centralize in Wisconsin, where the company also has an office. The Right Place worked with the company in collaboration with the MEDC to ensure that West Michigan could retain Advantage Solutions, and find a suitable location in the area that would bring all employees under one roof.

“We consider this a double win for the region,” said Eric Icard, Senior business development manager, The Right Place. “Not only were we able to retain hundreds of jobs in West Michigan, we will also gain over 100 new jobs as a result.”

Bringing several hundred employees to the City of Wyoming, with the potential for 100 more in the future, is great news for the City of Wyoming and its ongoing efforts to revitalize that stretch of 28th Street. “Exciting things are happening in the 28th Street corridor and the reuse of the former Klingman’s building is integral to our success,” said Mayor Jack Poll, City of Wyoming. “We’re thrilled to welcome Advantage Sales & Marketing to our community and we look forward to working with them.”
