Why Greater Grand Rapids
Real Estate Development Council
A New Initiative to Advance Development in the Greater Grand Rapids Region
The Right Place is launching a new Real Estate Development Council to strengthen collaboration, accelerate financeable projects, and support smart growth across the Greater Grand Rapids region.
This Council will bring together leaders from across the real estate and development ecosystem to help shape the future of development in our region.
Why We’re Launching This Council
Real estate development is increasingly complex. Capital structures are layered. Infrastructure readiness matters. Municipal processes impact timelines. Market conditions continue to evolve.
The Real Estate Development Council will serve as a structured forum to:
- Improve development feasibility and capital stack alignment
- Strengthen public-private coordination and municipal readiness
- Share market intelligence and sector-specific trends
- Identify practical solutions to move projects forward
- Support innovative, community-aligned development strategies
As a new council, participating members will help define priorities, shape focus areas, and guide how this group creates long-term impact.
Who Should Be Involved
We are seeking leaders involved in residential, commercial, and industrial real estate development in the Greater Grand Rapids region, including:
- Developers
- Real estate investors
- Construction firms
- Capital markets and finance professionals
- Architects, engineers, planners, brokers, and legal advisors
- Public sector and utility partners
All Council members must be investors in The Right Place.
